How Do I Measure a Jar for a Sticker Label?
Measure the smooth, usable area rather than the jar’s total height or circumference. Use a flexible tape measure or wrap a strip of paper around the jar, mark the available width and height, then lay the strip flat to measure it. Avoid shoulders, pronounced curves, seams, embossing and ridges because they reduce adhesive contact and can make a label crease or lift. Make a paper mock-up at the proposed finished size and place it on the jar before ordering. Always measure the exact production jar, as containers that look alike can have slightly different dimensions.
What Size Should My Jar Sticker Be?
The best size leaves a clear margin around the label and fits within the straightest part of the jar. A label that reaches into a shoulder, base curve or moulded feature is more likely to wrinkle or lift. Dust, grease, condensation, mould-release agents and some low-surface-energy plastics can reduce the adhesive bond. Clean the application area with a suitable residue-free method, allow it to dry completely and avoid touching the adhesive or prepared surface. Because jars vary, we cannot guarantee every combination; testing the chosen material on the actual production container is essential.
How Do I Apply Stickers to Jars Without Bubbles or Creases?
Apply the sticker to a clean, dry jar at a comfortable room temperature. Position it before removing the full backing, then expose a small section of adhesive and anchor one edge. Smooth the label gradually across the jar from the centre towards the edges, keeping the remaining backing under tension so the adhesive does not grab too early. Rotate the jar as you work rather than forcing the label around the curve. Press the full surface and edges firmly, then allow the adhesive time to settle before exposing the jar to refrigeration, moisture or heavy handling.
