Test Our Sticker Material on your Product First
We recommend our stickers for a wide range of products and applications; however, due to the nature of different sticker materials, adhesive types, finishes, and environmental conditions, we cannot guarantee seamless application on every surface, shape, or material. Because of this, we recommend ordering a sample pack and testing our stickers on your intended surface before placing your order.
For foiled stickers, curved or uneven surfaces (such as jars or bottles), or products exposed to moisture, refrigeration, heat, or other extreme conditions, we strongly recommend ordering 5 sample copies of your stickers to test prior to committing to a full run, giving you complete peace of mind when placing your order.
We aim to produce and dispatch all orders as quickly and efficiently as possible. As every product is custom printed to order, turnaround times can vary depending on artwork approval, quantity, finishing options and the complexity of the project. More specialist products and finishes, including duplex, triplex, die cut and foiled items, will usually require additional production time due to the extra processes involved.

Once you approve your proof, our team will email you a dispatch estimate for your specific order. Printing the Base Design
Every foiled product begins with the main artwork being printed, which is the first stage in how our digital foil printing process works. This creates the text, imagery and background elements that form the printed base layer. Printing this artwork first allows the metallic details to be positioned accurately as part of the finished design during the later stages.
Applying the Soft Touch Laminate
Once printed, the sheet is covered with an ultra-fine soft touch laminate. Any side receiving foil must be laminated so the toner can adhere cleanly before the metallic foil is applied. The laminate also protects the printed surface, prepares it for the foiling process and adds a smooth, velvety matt finish.
Overprinting the Foil Areas
Toner is then printed over the soft touch laminate using the separately supplied foil artwork. This overprint defines the areas intended to receive foil, such as lettering, linework, logos or selected design details. For every side being foiled, supply one print file and one separate foil file, following our foil artwork setup guide.
Applying the Metallic Foil
Finally, the printed sheets pass through one of our foiling machines, where the chosen metallic foil is bonded to the toner using heat and pressure, bringing the full printed design together. The sheets can then move on to cutting, creasing or any other required finishing.

For products with foil, Spot UV, cutting, creasing, perforation or drilling, we strongly recommend a composite reference page for each printed side to prevent mirrored or misplaced finishing elements and guide our design team when preparing your proof.

Can Gold Foil Stickers Be Cut to Custom Shapes?+
Yes. Gold foil stickers can be cut to custom shapes, allowing the outer edge to follow your artwork, logo or chosen sticker shape rather than being limited to standard squares or circles.
You can also choose whether your stickers are supplied individually or on sheets. Individual stickers are useful when they need to be handed out, included with orders or distributed one at a time. Sheets keep multiple stickers together on one backing, making them easier to store, organise and work through when applying labels to batches of products or packaging.
Are Gold Foil Stickers Waterproof?+
Gold foil stickers have a soft-touch laminated surface, which provides some added protection, but we wouldn’t describe them as fully waterproof. Performance can vary depending on the surface they are applied to and conditions such as moisture, condensation, refrigeration and heat.
If your stickers will be used in these conditions, we recommend ordering a sticker sample pack and testing the available materials on your intended product. This gives you the chance to compare the different options and find the most suitable sticker material for where and how it will be used.
Why Do Gold Foil Stickers Have Soft-Touch Lamination?+
Soft-touch lamination is an essential part of our four-step digital foiling process. We first print the base design, then apply the soft-touch laminate over the printed surface. Next, we print toner over the laminate using the separately supplied foil artwork, defining the areas that will receive foil. Finally, the metallic gold foil is bonded to the toner using heat and pressure.
The laminate gives the toner and foil a smooth surface to bond to, while also giving the non-foiled areas a soft, low-sheen finish that contrasts with the reflective gold foil. The print, laminate, toner and foil are applied in separate stages, so a small amount of movement between layers is normal.

Can Gold Foil Stickers Be Used on Bottles, Jars and Curved Surfaces?+
Yes. Gold foil stickers can be used on bottles, jars and other curved surfaces, but how well they adhere will depend on the material, shape and surface of the product.
Curved surfaces can place additional strain on the sticker and adhesive, while bottles and jars may also be exposed to moisture or condensation, especially when refrigerated. We recommend testing the sticker on the actual product before placing a larger order so you can check both adhesion and performance in the conditions it will normally be used.
Can I Order a Small Sample Run Before a Full Order?+
Yes. You can order 5 full-production-quality gold foil stickers by selecting 5 Sample Copies under Total Quantity in our product calculator. They use the same materials, print, soft-touch lamination and foil process as a larger run, giving you a practical way to check the finished size, appearance, foil reflection and how the sticker works on your intended surface before ordering a higher quantity.
If you want to compare more than one design, select Split Order Across Multiple Designs and confirm the quantity for each. As long as the sticker size, shape and materials remain the same, your 5-copy order can be split across up to 5 different designs, letting you compare different artwork, layouts or design variations before deciding which version to take forward.

Whereas many US-based businesses were offering week-long SHIPPING times (excluding printing), Aura offers as its default UPS Express shipping for the US. As a result, their shipments have a 2-day transit time (for me, in a smaller city, but would be overnight for major metros), and are guaranteed by UPS. Having traversed the world of e-commerce shipping, nothing brings me greater relief than to see UPS as a shipping option. Additionally, and quite importantly for my fellow US designers, because my order consisted of what could reasonably be described as printed marketing materials, they should not be subject to tariffs. The shipping department at Aura made sure that the customs information was filled out correctly, leaving me with no duties to pay, for which I am eternally grateful. Awed by the quality of my save-the-dates, proceeding with the rest of my suite was a no-brainer, which included a main invite, detail card, and reply card.
