You can also choose your preferred fold direction. All sizes are available with either a left-hand fold for a traditional book-style opening, or a top fold for a more classic greeting card format. This flexibility makes it easy to match the card layout to your artwork design and intended use.
All greeting cards are supplied flat with a professional crease applied. This allows you to write your message easily before folding and inserting the card into its envelope, ensuring a clean finish and preventing pressure marks on the foil surface.

Allow 2 mm of bleed around all artwork for cutting tolerances.
Format all artwork to CMYK.
Set your resolution to a minimum of 300 DPI.
Supply your artwork in PDF, JPG or fully packaged Adobe Illustrator files.
Keep all text, logos and foreground images within a 3 mm safe zone from the cut edge.
For products with foil, Spot UV, cutting, creasing, perforation or drilling, we strongly recommend a composite reference page for each printed side to prevent mirrored or misplaced finishing elements and guide our design team when preparing your proof.
Supply the CMYK artwork and the foil or Spot UV elements on separate pages.

If you select All Prints Personalised via Data Merge, supply a spreadsheet alongside your artwork containing the information for each print.

Any side of your greeting card receiving metallic foil must be laminated because the foil process needs a smooth, sealed surface for the toner and foil to bond correctly. The soft touch laminate also protects the printed surface beneath the foil. Areas that do not receive foil can remain unlaminated or be finished with matt, gloss or soft touch lamination.
If you plan to handwrite inside your foil greeting cards, leave the inside unlaminated for the easiest writing surface. Uncoated paper is the first option to consider because its natural surface is well suited to writing, while recycled paper also offers a more natural writing surface. A laminated inside can still be written on, but some pen inks may take longer to dry and can be more prone to smudging.
Yes. Physical foil samples are the best way to compare the colours and reflective characteristics available for your metallic foil greeting cards before ordering. Metallic and holographic foils change as the light moves across them, so their appearance cannot be represented exactly on a screen. You can order a foil sample pack to compare the finishes in person.
Foiled greeting cards can be used across retail ranges, branded customer mailings, celebrations and milestone moments. This could include seasonal retail collections, artist or illustrator card ranges, branded thank-you cards and Christmas cards sent to customers or clients.
For individual occasions, they can be produced as foil birthday cards, foil wedding cards, foil Christmas cards, foil anniversary cards, foil Valentine’s Day cards and foil thank-you cards, as well as cards for new babies, congratulations, sympathy and condolence messages, graduations, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day.
You can leave the inside blank for your own message, or supply artwork for your printed inner message. The inside can also include metallic foil, with soft touch lamination required on any foiled side. This gives you the choice to keep the inside simple, add a printed message or carry the foil design through to the inside of the greeting card.
Our foil greeting cards are supplied without envelopes, so you only need to order them if you require them. We sell a range of custom envelopes, including blank envelopes in a range of colours, with or without windows and in a range of sizes. You can also add full-colour printing or explore printed liners to coordinate the envelope with your greeting card design.
Yes. Choose Split Across Multiple Designs when configuring your foil greeting cards to divide the total quantity between several different artworks within the same order. The paper, finished size and foil options must stay the same across all designs, while the printed artwork can change between each version.
Unless you tell us otherwise in your post-checkout communication, the total quantity will be split evenly across the supplied designs. This works well for seasonal collections, card ranges or occasions where you need several designs without placing separate orders. An additional charge applies for each design because every version requires its own artwork setup and checking.
Yes. Choose All Prints Personalised via Data Merge on the product calculator if each foil greeting card needs different names, messages or other information changing. Supply your fixed artwork together with our Variable Data Merge template, using one row for each greeting card and clearly labelled columns for each piece of information that changes. Send the completed spreadsheet with your artwork after checkout.
No. The greeting cards are supplied flat with the crease already applied. You can prepare or write inside the card while it is flat, then fold it along the supplied crease before placing it into the envelope.
Our standard minimum order quantity (MOQ) is 50 foil greeting cards. If you want to check the finished result before ordering a larger quantity, you can choose 5 sample copies instead. These five greeting cards go through the full production process, allowing you to assess the finished print and foil before committing to a larger run. As the same production setup is required for only five cards, the cost per card is higher than a standard order.
