How many foil colours can I have on my foil bookmarks?

2! At Aura Print, we can apply one foil colour per side. This means that if you want single-sided foil bookmarks, you’ll be able to choose one foil colour, however if you’re going for double sided bookmarks, why not choose a different colour for each side?

Can you print and foil different bookmark designs in the same order?

Yes! As long as your bookmarks are the same size, paper type, and foil colour, you’ll be given the option to split your order across as many designs as you need!

What paper type should I choose for my foil bookmark printing?

We’ve curated our paper selection to offer you the best tried and tested paper stocks for foiled bookmarks. From Silk to Uncoated, Colorplan to Recycled, while we can’t choose for you, we can assure you that every stock looks amazing as a foiled bookmark. Can you create foil print bookmarks in the shape of a bookstack?

Yes! If you select the star icon beneath ‘orientation/shape’, you’ll be able to enter your custom dimensions for die-cut, foil printed bookmarks.

Do I have to have soft touch laminate on my foil print bookmarks?

Yes, you do, and what a treat it is! From a practicality standpoint, soft touch laminate is an absolute must as it keeps your print layer separate from your foil layer. From a luxury point of view, soft touch laminate is an ultra-thin, lightweight, smooth-as-butter finish that helps your foil bookmarks survive between the pages of many, many novels for as long as you need them to!

I have my own bookmark tassels, but can you add a hole for me to thread them through?

Absolutely! We can add a 5mm drill hole to the top of each and every bookmark, getting them ready for easy tassel application.

Artwork Requirements

The Basics

Allow 2mm of bleed around all artwork for cutting tolerances.

Format all artwork to CMYK.

Set your resolution to a minimum of 300DPI.

Supply your artwork in PDF, JPG or fully packaged AI formats.

Keep all text, logos and foreground images within a 3mm safe zone from the cut edge.

Metallic Foil & Spot UV Products

Separate all foil elements from CMYK artwork, place foil elements on a separate page, and supply as 100% K (black). See our helpful guide about how to supply artwork for foil printing.

Die Cut Or Kiss Cut (Shaped) Products Including Stickers

Indicate cut lines using a 1pt magenta line on a separate layer or separate page. See our helpful guide about how to supply artwork for die/kiss cutting.
