Custom die-cut invitations are a fun and unique way to get your guests excited for your event, perfect for birthdays, sleepovers, engagements, balls, and more. Before you get started on your custom die-cut invitations, you may want some die-cutting questions answered, so we’ve put together a quick guide to die-cutting.

Custom Die Cut Invitations That Stand Out From The Rest

When it comes to designing your die-cut invitation cards, we have an array of high-quality paper stocks, ranging from silk to gloss, recycled and uncoated. We guarantee we have a paper stock that’ll bring your custom die-cut invitations to life. Are you looking for something a little thicker? Paper thickness will add depth and richness to your die-cut invites, giving them that luxurious premium feel. If you’d rather see the options before making your choice, you can order one of our sample packs. Seeing the variety of shades, textures, and finishes will make it easy for you to perfectly match a paper stock to what you envisioned for your die-cut invitation design.

We also offer several stunning finishes for your custom die-cut invites. Go double-sided, add a touch of shiny metallic foil, or even include perforations in any direction. Perfect if you want your guests to RSVP. If you decide to add a splash of metallic foil we’ll add a soft touch lamination as standard to preserve the longevity of your invite. If not, you can opt for a gloss or matt lamination if you prefer, or no lamination at all.

FAQS

What Shape Can My Die Cut Invitation Be?

Any shape you like! Well, almost. From house-shaped invites for your moving-in party to cake-shaped invitations for your epic birthday bash, we can cut your invitations to any custom shape you want. Our team will let you know whether the shape you have chosen will work, and if not, will provide suggestions on how to make it more suitable.

How Do I Supply My Artwork For Die Cut Invitations?

With our die-cut invitation printing, we require both your artwork files and the shape you want your invites to be. The shape needs to be supplied as a 1pt stroke, separate from your printed artwork. There are a couple of things to keep in mind with your artwork. The first is to make sure that the trim line isn’t touching (or almost touching) anything important in your artwork. The second is to edit your artwork so it includes bleed.

Can I Print Both Sides Of My Die Cut Invitation?

Yes, you can. Simply choose the double-sided option in the menu above. Remember, the shape for the front of your invite will be mirrored for the reverse, so make sure to design your artwork to match.

Which Paper Is Best For Die-Cutting Invitations?

In the paper options above, we offer the paper stocks that we believe are best for die-cut invites. This hand-selected range includes the majority of our premium paper stocks, as well as the paper thicknesses that we think will give you the best printed results.

Do My Die Cut Invites Need To Be Laminated?

In most circumstances, your die-cut invites don’t need to be laminated if you’d rather order them without. We’ve provided you with the option to choose between our three laminate options, as well as the option to have no laminate at all. With our thickest papers, our team may advise you to have a laminate to help protect your invitations within the production process. In these cases, we will be in touch during the digital proofing stage to advise accordingly so you get the best quality die-cut invites.

Can I Print Multiple Invite Designs In The Same Order?

We’ve given you the choice to split your order across multiple different designs. Make sure that each of your different designs is the same shape, paper type, and size. If you would like different shapes, paper types, and custom finishes each invite design would need to be ordered separately.

Artwork Requirements

The Basics

Allow 2mm of bleed around all artwork for cutting tolerances.

Format all artwork to CMYK.

Supply your artwork in PDF, JPG or fully packaged AI formats.

Keep all text, logos and foreground images within a 3mm safe zone from the cut edge.

Metallic Foil & Spot UV Products

Separate all foil elements from CMYK artwork, place foil elements on a separate page, and supply as 100% K (black). See our helpful guide about how to supply artwork for foil printing.

Die Cut Or Kiss Cut (Shaped) Products Including Stickers

Indicate cut lines using a 1pt magenta line on a separate layer or separate page. See our helpful guide about how to supply artwork for die/kiss cutting.
