We aim to produce and dispatch all orders as quickly and efficiently as possible. As every product is custom printed to order, turnaround times can vary depending on artwork approval, quantity, finishing options, and the complexity of the project.
Once your proof has been approved, the minimum production turnaround is 2 full working days before dispatch. More specialist products and finishes including duplexed, triplexed, die cut, and foiled items will usually require additional production time due to the extra processes involved. Yes, and this is one of the most crucial things to understand before designing for Kraft stock.
Because the paper itself is brown, all printed colours interact with the natural tone underneath. Lighter colours tend to appear more muted and earthy, while darker colours become even darker and more dramatic. White ink is not used in standard CMYK printing, so areas designed as “white” will actually show as the natural brown Kraft paper colour instead. Black print is generally the go-to for Kraft paper printing as it provides the most consistent results.

They’re also popular for minimalist packaging, earthy colour schemes, and nature-inspired product collections where overly glossy finishes would feel out of place.
What Types of Designs Work Best on Kraft Greeting Cards?+
Kraft greeting cards tend to work best with designs that embrace the natural tone of the stock rather than trying to cover it.
Because Kraft paper is naturally brown, black ink usually provides the strongest, sharpest, and most reliable print result. Minimalist layouts, hand-drawn illustrations, botanical artwork, rustic typography, monochrome designs, festive illustrations, and vintage aesthetics tend to reproduce especially well on Kraft stock because of the strong contrast created against the natural background.
Darker earthy tones, such as deep greens, burgundy, and navy, can also work nicely, but lighter colours and pastel shades will usually look far more muted than they would on white paper stocks.
Highly photographic designs generally aren’t recommended on Kraft because the darker stock can significantly affect colour accuracy and image vibrancy.

Can I Add Foil to Kraft Greeting Cards?+
Unfortunately not. Kraft stock cannot be laminated consistently because of the natural fibres and textured surface of the paper, which also means metallic foil cannot be applied reliably.
Foiling requires a smooth, laminated surface for proper adhesion and consistency during production. Because Kraft paper has a more porous and uneven texture, foil can become patchy, inconsistent, or fail to adhere correctly across the design.
For customers specifically wanting metallic foil finishes, we would normally recommend smoother, uncoated or silk-based stocks instead, as these produce much cleaner and more reliable foil results. Should Kraft Greeting Cards Be Laminated?+
Kraft greeting cards cannot be laminated.
Because of the natural fibres and textured surface of Kraft stock, the laminate does not adhere consistently enough to produce a reliable or professional finish. One of the key reasons customers choose Kraft paper in the first place is for its raw, natural texture and handmade appearance, so leaving the stock uncoated is part of the intended aesthetic anyway.
This gives Kraft greeting cards a much more organic feel compared to heavily coated or laminated alternatives.

You can, but we generally wouldn’t recommend it if accurate colour reproduction is important.
Because Kraft stock is naturally brown, printed photographs will look noticeably different compared to how they appear on bright white paper or on screen. The brown base affects every printed colour, making photographs appear darker, warmer, and more muted overall while massively reducing contrast and detail in lighter areas.
Photography-heavy designs usually reproduce far better on white uncoated or silk stocks instead. Kraft tends to work best for illustration-led, monochrome, rustic, or minimalist designs that intentionally embrace the natural colour of the paper.

Whereas many US-based businesses were offering week-long SHIPPING times (excluding printing), Aura offers as its default UPS Express shipping for the US. As a result, their shipments have a 2-day transit time (for me, in a smaller city, but would be overnight for major metros), and are guaranteed by UPS. Having traversed the world of e-commerce shipping, nothing brings me greater relief than to see UPS as a shipping option. Additionally, and quite importantly for my fellow US designers, because my order consisted of what could reasonably be described as printed marketing materials, they should not be subject to tariffs. The shipping department at Aura made sure that the customs information was filled out correctly, leaving me with no duties to pay, for which I am eternally grateful. Awed by the quality of my save-the-dates, proceeding with the rest of my suite was a no-brainer, which included a main invite, detail card, and reply card.
