FAQS

Not sure how to make prints of your art?

If you're a digital artist, setting up your designs to print digital art should be straightforward. If this is the first time you're having your art printing online, then we suggest taking a look at how to set up artwork for print. For inspiration and a success story on how to make prints of your art, head on over to our blog where we've got a Q&A with Spilt Milk Press and how Bethany has taken her love for prints and turned it into a fledging business.

What is the best paper for art prints?

This is totally subjective and completely depends on how you want your custom art prints to look. If you're printing "full coverage", meaning there is no white space, we'd often recommend silk since it gives the cleanest look. Although if you've got plenty of white space, uncoated has a cleaner, cooler white to the paper. If you're wanting your art prints to look luxurious, then our range of other hand-picked paper types would be the ones to go from. From textured to coloured stocks, we're sure we've got something that can complement your artwork perfectly. If you need to see samples, just let our team know.

What does split across multiple # of designs mean?

Here's where our online art printing gets special. We don't force you to order all your different designs of prints separately, artificially bumping up the price. With this option, you're able to choose the total amount of prints you'd like, and then select to divide that number by the amount of different designs you have. For example, if you order 100 prints and have a line of 5 art prints, you can have 20 of each design, or any split you'd like, 50 of one, 20 of another and then the rest split equally, just let us know when you send in your artwork.

Do my prints need to be laminated?

This is completely up to you, lamination protects the face of your prints, so if your customers might want to display them without putting them in a frame this can help with that. Lamination can also give your prints a more luxurious finish if you opt for a soft-touch velvet laminate.

What's the difference between silver/gold print and metallic foil?

To put it simply, our silver and gold print has a more satin finish to it and is a more cost-effective option. Our metallic foil has a mirror finish shine but requires a laminate and is more costly. We like to offer both so our customers can decide on what is best for them! If you'd prefer metallic foil embellishing, then you can order that through our foil flyer product.

How long does it take to produce print art online?

Firstly you'll have to place your order and supply us your files as we can't get started on anything until we have that. We'll usually get back to you within one working day after you've submitted your files with a digital proof. This is your opportunity to have a final check before going to print. Once you give the okay, the turnaround time will start, this all depends on your print spec and can be anywhere from 1 working day to 7+. You'll get assigned an estimated dispatch date once we go to print which is our target day to dispatch your order by. Then it's just shipping which is usually next working day.
