Custom Die Cut Stickers Shaped Around Your Design
Custom die cut stickers follow the outer edge of your artwork instead of placing every design inside a standard square or circle. Create individually cut stickers or stickers supplied on sheets for logos, characters, illustrations and product branding, with each design shaped around its own outline.
Create Stickers Beyond Standard Shapes
Die cut stickers suit artists, retailers, event organizers and businesses creating merchandise, promotional handouts or shaped product labels. Configure your preferred material and dimensions, or compare the wider options in our Sticker Printing range before ordering and emailing your artwork or design brief.

What Are Custom Die-Cut Stickers?
Custom die-cut stickers are printed stickers cut to a shape created specifically for your artwork, rather than being limited to a standard circle or rectangle. We can follow the outline of a logo, illustration, mascot, product or other distinctive silhouette, giving the finished sticker a custom appearance. The cutting path can sit close to the design or include a deliberate border. We review the proposed shape before production to make sure it will cut cleanly at the final size.
What Is the Difference Between Die-Cut and Kiss-Cut Stickers?
The difference is how far the cutting blade travels through the material. A conventional die-cut sticker is cut through both the printed sticker and its release backing, leaving an individual piece in the finished shape. A kiss-cut sticker is cut through the adhesive face but not the larger backing sheet, so it stays protected until it is peeled away. We can supply custom-shaped stickers on sheets or as individual stickers, so tell us how you plan to use or distribute them. Our guide to kiss-cut versus die-cut stickers explains which presentation may suit your project.
How Do I Choose a Cut Shape for My Design?
Start with the strongest recognizable outline in your artwork. Logos, characters, symbols and illustrated objects often work well because the finished shape reinforces the design. We recommend judging the contour at the final printed size: a shape that looks clear on screen can become fussy when reduced. Smooth curves and purposeful corners usually cut and handle better than numerous tiny projections. If you need inspiration, see how businesses use die-cut stickers in branding, packaging and promotions.
Should My Die-Cut Sticker Have a White Border?
A white border is optional, but it can separate the artwork from the surface beneath it and give the cutting path a little more visual breathing room. It is especially useful around detailed illustrations or artwork with dark, irregular edges. We can also cut closer to the printed design where the artwork allows. Because printing and cutting have normal production tolerances, avoid using an extremely thin border whose width must look perfectly identical all the way around.
How Much Detail Can a Custom Cut Line Include?
We can produce intricate custom shapes, but the practical level of detail depends on the finished size and the material selected. Very small spikes, narrow bridges, deep notches and clusters of tight corners can be fragile, difficult to peel or visually unclear. We recommend simplifying the outer contour while preserving the character of the design. Send us the artwork at the intended size and we will review whether the shape is suitable or suggest a smoother cutting path before production.
Can Die-Cut Stickers Include Holes or Internal Cut-Outs?
Internal cut-outs may be possible for some designs, but they need to be assessed separately from the outer contour. Their feasibility depends on the size, material, spacing and complexity of the artwork, and additional cutting can affect production. Do not assume that every enclosed area in a design will be removed automatically. Mark any required internal cuts clearly and contact us before ordering so we can confirm what can be produced and price the order correctly.
How Do I Set Up a Cut Line for Die-Cut Sticker Artwork?
Show the intended cutting path as a smooth, closed 1 pt magenta line on a separate layer or separate page. The line should follow the required finished shape and should not be flattened into the printed artwork. Keep it free from stray points, overlapping paths and unnecessarily tight corners. If you cannot create a vector cut line, send us your design and explain the shape you want; our team can review it. Follow our step-by-step guide on how to supply artwork for kiss and die cutting for further preparation advice.
How Far Should Text and Logos Sit From the Cut Edge?
Keep text, logos and important foreground images at least 0.1 inch (3 mm) inside the cut edge. Extend background colours and images 0.08 inch (2 mm) beyond the cutting path to create bleed, so a fine unprinted edge is not exposed by normal print-and-cut movement. The safe zone protects important content; bleed protects the outer edge. Avoid using a narrow frame that must remain perfectly even around an irregular contour. Read our explanations of printing bleed and digital print movement tolerances when preparing precision-sensitive artwork.
Can One Order Include Several Die-Cut Sticker Designs?
We can print a coordinated collection of custom-shaped designs, but each unique artwork, size, shape and quantity needs to be identified clearly. Do not assume that several designs can be combined as one item simply because their overall dimensions are similar. Send us the complete set and the quantity required for each design so we can confirm the most appropriate specification and quote. Our guide to creating a professional die-cut sticker collection also covers cohesion, sizing and shape choices.
How Are Custom Die-Cut Stickers Supplied?
We can supply custom-shaped stickers on sheets or as individual stickers. The best format depends on the design, finished size, cutting method, quantity and whether you will apply the stickers yourself or hand them out. Sheet presentation keeps smaller or more delicate shapes protected and easy to store, while individually cut pieces are convenient for giveaways, order inserts and resale. Tell us your preferred presentation before ordering so we can confirm that it is suitable for the chosen specification.
Can You Check or Create My Custom Cut Line?
Yes. You can send us completed print-ready artwork, or ask our in-house design team to help prepare the design and cutting path. If you need design support, give us the intended finished size, the shape you have in mind and a clear design brief, together with any logos, brand colours or reference images. We review the artwork, discuss any issues with you and send a proof for approval before printing, so production does not begin until you are happy with the proposed result.
What Artwork Files Should I Supply for Die-Cut Sticker Printing?
Supply your artwork as a PDF, JPG or fully packaged Adobe Illustrator file. Set colour artwork to CMYK and raster images to at least 300 dpi at the final size. Include 0.08 inch (2 mm) of bleed, keep important content within the 0.1 inch (3 mm) safe zone and place the 1 pt magenta cut line on a separate layer or page. We will review the file and send a proof before printing, but checking the source artwork first helps prevent delays. Use our print artwork checklist before sending the files.
