As every product is custom printed to order, turnaround times can vary depending on artwork approval, quantity, finishing options and the complexity of the project. More specialist products and finishes, including duplex, triplex, die cut and foiled items, will usually require additional production time due to the extra processes involved.
As you configure your product, the online calculator updates in real time to show an estimated turnaround based on your chosen options. Once you approve your proof, our team will email you a dispatch estimate for your specific order. This estimate covers the production time from proof approval to dispatch and does not include courier delivery time.

If you’re working towards a tight deadline, we also offer a Rush Service at checkout which means you can reduce the production turnaround by 1 business day on eligible products.
Quality Checks and Dispatch
Although we are based in the UK, our courier partners provide fast, tracked delivery across Canada. Orders are carefully printed, finished, quality checked and prepared for dispatch before being sent across the Atlantic.
Canadian shipping is charged from CA$24.95. Delivery to major urban areas in southern Canada typically takes 1–2 business days after dispatch, while deliveries to rural, remote, northern and territorial locations may take an estimated 2–3 business days or longer, depending on location and courier coverage.

Lower paper weights are easier to carry and hand out in larger quantities, while higher paper weights give each flyer a firmer feel.
Choose the Finish on an Unfoiled Reverse
Every side receiving foil must have soft touch lamination. If the reverse is not foiled, you can choose whether to laminate it separately.
Leave it unlaminated to retain the natural surface of the paper
Choose matte for a smooth, low-sheen finish
Choose gloss for a brighter surface that makes printed colours appear more vivid
Choose soft touch for the same soft, low-sheen finish used on the foiled side
Add Creases, Perforations or Rounded Corners
Finishing options include crease lines for folding, perforations for tear-off sections or rounded corners for a softer outline. Show crease lines as 1pt solid magenta lines and perforation lines as 1pt dashed magenta lines, on separate artboards or layers from your printed artwork.
We also recommend including a composite reference showing everything together, so our team can check the placement.

Printing the Base Design
Every foiled product begins with the main artwork being printed, which is the first stage in how our digital foil printing process works. This creates the text, imagery and background elements that form the printed base layer. Printing this artwork first allows the metallic details to be positioned accurately as part of the finished design during the later stages.
Applying the Soft Touch Laminate
Once printed, the sheet is covered with an ultra-fine soft touch laminate. Any side receiving foil must be laminated so the toner can adhere cleanly before the metallic foil is applied. The laminate also protects the printed surface, prepares it for the foiling process and adds a smooth, velvety matt finish.
Overprinting the Foil Areas
Toner is then printed over the soft touch laminate using the separately supplied foil artwork. This overprint defines the areas intended to receive foil, such as lettering, linework, logos or selected design details. For every side being foiled, supply one print file and one separate foil file, following our foil artwork setup guide.
Applying the Metallic Foil
Finally, the printed sheets pass through one of our foiling machines, where the chosen metallic foil is bonded to the toner using heat and pressure, bringing the full printed design together. The sheets can then move on to cutting, creasing or any other required finishing.

For products with foil, Spot UV, cutting, creasing, perforation or drilling, we strongly recommend including a composite reference page for each printed side to prevent mirrored or misplaced finishing elements and guide our design team when preparing your proof.

Which Foil Colours Are Available for Metallic Foil Flyers?+
You can choose from 12 finishes: Gold, Silver, Rose Gold, Copper Bronze, Pink, Violet, Red, Teal, Blue, Green, Black Chrome and Holographic.
The range gives you different ways to use reflective colour across your flyer artwork, from traditional metals and brighter colours to a dark reflective finish and colour-shifting Holographic. Since each foil changes with the light and viewing angle, physical foil samples are the best way to compare the finishes accurately.
Can I Use Different Foil Colours on the Front and Back of My Flyers?+
Yes. If both sides of the flyer receive foil, you can choose the same foil finish on each side or select a different colour for the front and reverse.
Each foiled side receives soft touch lamination and requires its own print and foil artwork, giving you independent control over the artwork and foil placement on each side.
Can I Use Foil Across a Large Area of a Flyer?+
Metallic foil can be used as a small highlight or across much larger areas of the flyer artwork. The amount of foil used does not change the price, so you can decide how prominent the reflective finish should be based on the design rather than the foil coverage.
How much foil you use is entirely up to you, from small foiled lettering and logos to larger foil-led backgrounds, patterns and graphics.
How Should I Supply Artwork for Metallic Foil Flyers?+
Supply your printed flyer design and the metallic foil elements separately. The foil artwork should contain only the areas receiving foil, shown in solid 100% K black.
We also strongly recommend including a composite reference as a separate artboard or layer, showing the printed design and foil together as they should appear on the finished flyer. If both sides receive foil, include a composite for each side. This gives our team a clear reference for where the foil should sit.
Do Metallic Foil Flyers Have to Be Soft Touch Laminated?+
Yes. Every side of a metallic foil flyer receiving foil must have soft touch lamination because the laminate is required for the foiling process.
If only one side of the flyer receives foil, you can leave the reverse unlaminated to retain the paper stock’s natural surface, choose matte for a smoother low-sheen finish, gloss for a brighter reflective surface that makes printed colours appear more vivid, or soft touch for the same soft, low-sheen feel used on the foiled side.
How Long Do Metallic Foil Flyers Take to Produce?+
Production time depends on the quantity, paper stock, foil and finishing options selected for your flyers. The configurator updates to show the estimated turnaround for your chosen specification.
After you place your order, we’ll send you a personalized production estimate based on the options you have selected. Production begins once your digital proof has been approved, and courier delivery time is additional to the production estimate.

Yes. You can split your total quantity across multiple flyer designs by choosing the Split Across Multiple Designs option on the product calculator, making it useful when one campaign needs different versions for locations, dates, offers or audiences.

I custom designed an invitation suite for a retirement party, and first worked with Aura on my save-the-dates before doing a larger order. I was blown away by the lightning-fast proofing process, and then the incredibly quick printing. Both orders included custom foiling (which I could not find for a better price point anywhere, especially here in the US). We graphic designers know that human creativity is the core of what we do, which is why I was so appreciative that I was working with fellow humans through this process, and not through some AI. Further, the shipping process was spectacular. Whereas many US-based businesses were offering week-long SHIPPING times (excluding printing), Aura offers as its default UPS Express shipping for the US. As a result, their shipments have a 2-day transit time (for me, in a smaller city, but would be overnight for major metros), and are guaranteed by UPS. Having traversed the world of e-commerce shipping, nothing brings me greater relief than to see UPS as a shipping option. Additionally, and quite importantly for my fellow US designers, because my order consisted of what could reasonably be described as printed marketing materials, they should not be subject to tariffs. The shipping department at Aura made sure that the customs information was filled out correctly, leaving me with no duties to pay, for which I am eternally grateful. Awed by the quality of my save-the-dates, proceeding with the rest of my suite was a no-brainer, which included a main invite, detail card, and reply card. The turnaround time was similarly rapid, and the quality of the work simply unmatched. To all designers, but especially those in the US, do not let the idea of an international shipper stop you. I've never known a more professional company, period, and will certainly be reordering whenever my next printing job arises. SUPPORT SMALL BUSINESSES!
