Use it to highlight titles, author names, logos, borders or illustration details alongside full-colour print, creating elements that reveal different colours as the bookmark is picked up, turned or returned to the page.
Holographic foil can carry much of the visual interest in a simple bookmark design. Plain backgrounds, restrained typography and minimal illustration give the shifting colour more room to show, while even small foiled details can become a strong focal point as the bookmark catches the light. Larger foil areas push the effect further, bringing more of that changing spectrum across the design.

For products with foil, Spot UV, cutting, creasing, perforation or drilling, we strongly recommend including a composite reference page for each printed side to prevent mirrored or misplaced finishing elements and guide our design team when preparing your proof.
Supply the CMYK artwork and the foil or Spot UV elements on separate pages.

Indicate die-cut lines, kiss-cut lines, crease lines and drill holes using a solid 1pt magenta line on a separate page. See our helpful guide about how to supply artwork for die/kiss cutting.

If you select All Prints Personalized via Data Merge, supply a spreadsheet alongside your artwork containing the information for each print.

Yes. If you want to see the colour shift, reflection and overall character of holographic foil for yourself, order one of our metallic foil sample packs before choosing your bookmark specification. Seeing the foil in person lets you move it through different lighting and viewing angles and judge the finish with your own eyes.
Holographic foil brings a spread of changing rainbow colours across the foiled areas of your bookmark. Other metallic foils stay within one colour family and create their effect through reflection, brightness and contrast. Choose holographic foil when you want the foil itself to bring more colour into the design, whether it is used across larger areas or to make selected details a prominent feature.
Our standard holographic bookmark sizes are 52x148mm and 52x210mm. You can also enter your own dimensions for a custom size or choose a completely custom die cut shape, allowing the outer edge of your bookmark to follow your design rather than remaining rectangular.
Yes. You can apply holographic foil to one or both sides of your bookmark. Every foiled side receives soft touch lamination before the foil is applied and requires separate print and foil artwork. If you choose holographic foil on one side only, the reverse remains unlaminated. You can also choose a different foil colour for the opposite side, with one foil colour available per side.
Yes. You can add 6mm or 16mm rounded corners, a drill hole for attaching your own accessories, or painted edges on 32pt paper stocks. These options allow you to customize the bookmark beyond the printed and holographic design, changing its shape and edge appearance or adding a practical attachment point.
Yes. You can split one order across several designs or personalize individual copies with changing names, quotes, QR codes or numbers. These are separate options within our product calculator.
Select Split Across Multiple Designs and tell us after checkout how you want the total quantity divided between your designs. If no quantities are supplied, we’ll split the order evenly.
Choose All Prints Personalized via Data Merge if every bookmark needs different information. Supply our team with a spreadsheet containing the variable data, with each row representing one printed bookmark.
The minimum order quantity for holographic bookmarks is 50 copies. You can also order 5 copies of your own design as samples if you want to check your exact artwork, paper choice and specification before placing a full order.
