How to Supply Your Artwork?
After placing your order, reply to your Order Confirmation email with your artwork files, design brief, or a link including your order number. For detailed specs, see the resources below. Need help writing a brief or preparing files? Contact our friendly design team or visit our blog.
The Basics
- Allow 0.08" (2mm) of bleed around all artwork for cutting tolerances.
- Format all artwork to CMYK.
- Set your resolution to a minimum of 300DPI.
- Supply your artwork in PDF, JPG or fully packaged AI formats.
- Keep all text, logos and foreground images within a 0.1" (3mm) safe zone from the cut edge.
Metallic Foil & Spot UV Products
- Separate all foil elements from CMYK artwork, place foil elements on a separate page, and supply as 100% K (black). See our helpful guide about how to supply artwork for foil printing.
Die Cut Or Kiss Cut (Shaped) Products Including Stickers
- Indicate cut lines using a 1pt magenta line on a separate layer or separate page. See our helpful guide about how to supply artwork for die/kiss cutting.
Folded, Perforated or Drilled Products
- Indicate any crease lines, perforation lines or drill holes using a 1pt magenta line on a separate layer or separate page.
Spot Colors
- Supply your artwork as CMYK + 1 Spot Color. See our helpful guide about how to supply artwork for spot color printing.
- Name your spot color layer with the color you've chosen, for example 'gold' or 'silver'.

What is a die cut flyer?
Die cut flyers is the print industry term for a custom-shaped flyer. If you want simple circle flyer printing, unicorn-shaped flyers, or crown-shaped flyers they're all essentially die cut leaflets. The term die cut leaflets means flyers that are cut to shape with a die which is basically a giant cookie cutter for paper.
What shape can my die cut flyers be?
You can have your die cut flyers be any shape you want. We've made duck-shaped flyers before, so there's no limit really. Very intricate shapes can sometimes be an issue so if you're unsure, the best thing to do would be to get in touch before placing your order.
How long does it take to print custom die cut flyers?
Printing your custom die cut flyers takes around 5 working days from the point of your digital proof approval. They're then posted with a 1-3 day delivery service. Some extra thick paper types may add an extra day or so to the turnaround time as they take longer to cut.
Can you design my flyer die cut design for me?
We have an in-house design team that would be more than happy to create your die cut flyer design. Simply choose "Supply Brief & We Design" when it comes to choosing your specifications.
What papers can I print my die cut flyer printing on?
We've gone above and beyond to try and give you the best choice of papers to print on in the print industry. From your regular silk and uncoated to eco-friendly options such as kraft and recycled. We also have a vast selection of luxury paper types that would suit your die cut flyer printing.
What is the best paper thickness for die cut flyers?
It depends on what you're using your die cut flyers for. If they're to be used as handing out, then any paper thickness above 14pt would be ideal. Aura is the best, most professional, fastest, and... Aura is the best, most professional, fastest, and highest quality printer I have ever worked with. I custom designed an invitation suite for a retirement party, and first worked with Aura on my save-the-dates before doing a larger order. I was blown away by the lightning-fast proofing process, and then the incredibly quick printing. Both orders included custom foiling (which I could not find for a better price point anywhere, especially here in the US). We graphic designers know that human creativity is the core of what we do, which is why I was so appreciative that I was working with fellow humans through this process, and not through some AI. Further, the shipping process was spectacular. Whereas many US-based businesses were offering week-long SHIPPING times (excluding printing), Aura offers as its default UPS Express shipping for the US. As a result, their shipments have a 2-day transit time (for me, in a smaller city, but would be overnight for major metros), and are guaranteed by UPS. Having traversed the world of e-commerce shipping, nothing brings me greater relief than to see UPS as a shipping option. Additionally, and quite importantly for my fellow US designers, because my order consisted of what could reasonably be described as printed marketing materials, they should not be subject to tariffs. The shipping department at Aura made sure that the customs information was filled out correctly, leaving me with no duties to pay, for which I am eternally grateful. Awed by the quality of my save-the-dates, proceeding with the rest of my suite was a no-brainer, which included a main invite, detail card, and reply card. The turnaround time was similarly rapid, and the quality of the work simply unmatched. To all designers, but especially those in the US, do not let the idea of an international shipper stop you. The process required more back-and-forth than expected, particularly around artwork setup and technical specifications, which would benefit from clearer guidance earlier on. Additionally, some of the smaller text printed finer than anticipated, so this is something to be mindful of when preparing artwork for print.
