Our paper stocks include the likes of silk, gloss, uncoated, or recycled from our eco-friendly range. If you’d like to see and feel the paper stocks before you choose the perfect fit for your perforated flyers then we recommend ordering a sample pack to be sure.

Are you ready to add the final touches to your project? We've got you covered! Our premium finishes are designed to make a lasting impression, whether you need a flyer with perforated bottom tear-offs for your music lesson sessions or want to advertise your carpooling business. Your Custom Flyer With Perforated Bottom, Top, or Sides

Knowing where to place your perforations, or even deciding how many to have so they’re positioned nicely within your leaflet design, can be a tricky design decision. That's why we offer two options when it comes to the design stage of your project.

Option one allows you to supply your own print-ready artwork. After completing your order, wait for our confirmation email which will prompt you to send us your design. We’ll do the necessary checks to ensure it's perfect for printing before sending it to production.

Option two allows you to hand your perforated flyer printing project over to our in-house design team, along with a detailed design brief from yourself. Your brief should contain all the relevant information, any ideas you have, or brand guidelines. Once you've configured your order with your desired customizations, complete the checkout and email us your brief. Our designers will get to work on your perforated tear-off flyer design, aiming to have a first proof to you in as little as one working day.

Choosing Paper for Perforated Flyers

Perforated flyers combine promotional marketing with practical functionality. Whether you’re producing coupons, admission tickets, rebate forms, contest entries, or tear-off contact slips, the paper you select can influence how well the perforation performs.

Some stocks prioritize durability during distribution, while others provide a better writing surface for forms and detachable sections. If you’re unsure which option is right for your campaign, our flyer paper comparison guide explains the characteristics of different stocks and finishes.

Choosing the right paper helps create perforated flyers that are both effective marketing tools and easy for customers to use.

Let our Design Team Work their Magic

We understand not everyone is a professional designer. You may not know your RGB from your CMYK or your bleed from your trap. That's why we have our in-house team on hand to craft the design of your dreams. All designs are individually created by our talented bunch. Yes, that's right, real people!

We aim to produce and dispatch all orders as quickly and efficiently as possible. As every product is custom printed to order, turnaround times can vary depending on artwork approval, quantity, finishing options, and the complexity of the project.

Once your proof has been approved, the minimum production turnaround is 2 full working days before dispatch. More specialist products and finishes including duplexed, triplexed, die cut, and foiled items will usually require additional production time due to the extra processes involved. Customers can view a more accurate turnaround estimate at any time by configuring their product within the online calculator.

If you’re working towards a tight deadline, we also offer a Rush Service at checkout which reduces the production turnaround by 1 working day on eligible products.

Although we’re based in the UK, our US delivery times are still faster than many domestic competitors. Orders are carefully printed, finished, quality checked, and dispatched using tracked courier services before crossing the Atlantic to the United States.

US shipping is charged at $12.95. Delivery to Eastern States typically takes 1–2 working days after dispatch, while customers in Central, Mountain, and Pacific states should usually expect delivery within 2–3 working days depending on location.

You can find full information on delivery times, shipping options, courier services, and return policies on our Delivery & Returns page.

What Are Perforated Flyers Used For?

Perforated flyers are perfect when you want part of your flyer to be torn off, kept, handed in, redeemed, or passed to someone else. That little tear-off section can do a lot of heavy lifting, especially when the main flyer is there to explain the offer and the smaller section is there to actually be used.

They’re a brilliant choice for discount coupons, loyalty sections, appointment slips, event stubs, contact cards, and claim codes. Basically, if there’s a bit of information someone needs to keep hold of without carrying the whole flyer around, perforated flyer printing starts to make a lot of sense.

The real beauty of a perforated flyer is convenience. A full flyer might be great for getting the message across, but it’s not always the thing someone wants stuffed in their wallet, pocket, or car cup holder for the next two weeks. A neat little tear-off section? Much more likely to survive the journey. If you’re planning a wider campaign, our guide to promoting with leaflets is a must-read.

When Should I Add A Tear-Off Section to My Flyers?

Add a tear-off section when you want the person holding your flyer to do something with one part of it. Maybe they need to bring a coupon into your store, keep an appointment reminder, hand over a ticket stub, or save a little card with your contact details. If the small section has a clear job, perforation is worth its weight in gold.

Perforation works best when your flyer has two jobs. The main section can do the explaining, showing off, and persuading, while the tear-off section becomes the useful bit people keep. It’s a small detail, but it can make your flyer feel much more practical.

If there’s nothing for people to tear off and use, you probably don’t need perforation. If one part needs to be kept, redeemed, removed, or handed in, it’s a very sensible upgrade. If you’re still working out the message, our blog on 6 reasons to use flyers and 6 design considerations has plenty of tips that apply nicely to perforated flyers too.

Where Should the Perforation Go On My Flyer?

The perforation should sit wherever the tear-off section feels most useful. A perforated bottom strip is the classic choice for coupons, offer slips, and contact details, while a side perforation can work really nicely for ticket-style stubs or narrow reminder sections.

The important thing is that both pieces still make sense after the tear. If someone removes the perforated section, the remaining flyer should not suddenly lose half a phone number, part of a logo, or the only bit that explains the offer. The tear-off section should also work on its own, because that’s the part most likely to end up in someone’s pocket.

We can add vertical or horizontal perforations, and custom perforation placement is available if your idea needs something a bit more bespoke. The golden rule? Plan the perforation into the design from the start. A tear line slapped through a QR code at the last minute isn’t on anyone’s bingo card.

How Many Perforations Can I Add to My Flyers?

We can add up to 3 vertical or horizontal perforations to your flyers, or create a custom perforation setup if you need something more specific. That gives you room for one simple tear-off coupon, several little claim slips, separate stubs, or sections that can be removed at different times.

That said, more perforations does not always mean a better flyer. One clear tear-off section with an obvious purpose will usually work harder than five tiny bits nobody knows what to do with. If you’re adding multiple perforations, each section needs its own job.

The more tear lines you add, the more carefully the artwork needs to be built. QR codes need space, small text needs breathing room, and important details need to stay away from the perforation. If the layout starts to look like a puzzle, it may be worth pulling it back a little before proofing.

Can Perforated Flyers Have Unique Codes, Names, or QR Codes?

Yes, and this is where perforated flyers can get really clever. If each tear-off section needs a different discount code, QR code, name, location, reference number, or offer, we can help set that up with a data merge.

This is perfect if you want to track which flyers are being redeemed, personalize offers, or create different versions for different locations. For example, you might want unique QR codes on each coupon, branch-specific offers, or individual claim codes that make it easier to see what’s actually working.

For data merge jobs, we’ll need your artwork and a tidy spreadsheet with the variable details clearly organized. Once everything is with us, our prepress team can merge the information into your flyer artwork before proofing. It’s a great way to make a simple tear-off section feel much smarter than it looks.

What Paper Weight Works Best for Perforated Flyers?

Perforated flyers need a stock that’s sturdy enough to tear cleanly, but not so thick that the perforation has to fight for its life. At Aura Print, perforated flyers are available on single-weight stocks from around 3.7pt to 18pt, depending on the paper you choose.

A thicker stock can make the tear-off section feel more valuable, especially if it’s being used as a coupon, ticket stub, or loyalty card. Lighter stocks can still work nicely for short-term promotions, but if the tear-off bit needs to be kept, handled, or handed in later, moving up the weight range is usually a good idea.

We don’t perforate double-thick or triple-thick stocks, and color core is not available for perforated flyer printing. If you’re not sure which stock to choose, our guides on the best paper weight for flyers and gloss, silk, and uncoated paper is a handy place to start.

Can Perforated Flyers Be Folded Too?

Of course! Perforated flyers can also be creased, which is perfect if your leaflet needs to open into sections while still including a tear-off part. We can add up to 3 vertical or horizontal creases as well as perforations, depending on the layout you’re going for.

This is really useful for folded leaflets with a detachable coupon, event handouts with a tear-off stub, or information flyers where one section needs to be removed and kept. The key is to plan the folds and perforations together from the start, because they both affect how the finished piece opens, reads, and tears.

A fold line and a perforation line should never feel like they’re battling for attention. Keep text, faces, QR codes, and logos away from both, and make sure each panel has its own job.

Can I Add Foil or Lamination to Perforated Flyers?

Yes, you can add matte, gloss, or soft touch lamination to compatible perforated flyer stocks, and foil is available too. Foiled sides come with soft touch lamination as standard, which gives the foil a lovely surface to sit against and helps the finished flyer feel more premium.

The main thing is to think about how the tear-off section will be used. If people need to write on it, stamp it, fold it, or hand it in at the register, the finish needs to make sense for that job. A glossy laminated coupon might look gorgeous, but if nobody can write on it, that’s not exactly ideal.

Foil can look brilliant on a coupon value, event name, logo, or special offer, but it should not sit too close to the perforation line. A little shine in the right place can make the flyer feel really special, but the tear-off section still needs to tear cleanly and do its job. If you’re thinking about adding foil, our metallic foil flyers will put your event in the limelight guide is worth a read.

How Should I Design A Flyer With A Tear-Off Section?

Designing a perforated flyer is all about making sure both parts work properly. The main flyer should explain the offer, event, service, or promotion, while the tear-off section should still make sense once it has been removed. If someone tears off a coupon, they should know what it’s for, where to use it, and when it expires without needing the rest of the flyer in their hand.

It helps to treat the tear-off section like a tiny print product of its own. Give it a clear heading, enough space around the edges, and any important details it needs to survive alone. If it includes a QR code, test it. If it includes small print, check it is actually readable. If it needs to be handed in somewhere, make that very obvious.

You should also keep the perforation line clear of anything important. A line through a face, logo, QR code, or tiny terms and conditions is asking for trouble. If your design is image-led or has lots of small details, our guide on how to check your artwork for print is a useful one to read before sending files over.

Can Aura Print Help Me Set Up A Perforated Flyer Design?

Yes, and perforated flyers are one of those products where a little setup help can save a lot of faff later. The perforation needs to sit in the right place, the tear-off section needs to make sense on its own, and the artwork needs enough space around the line so nothing important gets torn through.

If you already have artwork, send it over after ordering and our team will check it before production. If you need us to design the flyer for you, choose “Supply Brief & We Design” when placing your order, then reply to your confirmation email with your wording, logo, brand details, offer information, and where you want the perforation to sit.

The more specific you can be, the better. Tell us whether the tear-off section is a coupon, ticket stub, loyalty section, contact slip, or something else entirely, and we’ll design around that purpose. If you’re not sure how to pull the brief together, our how to write a design brief guide will help.
