Die Cut Or Kiss Cut (Shaped) Products Including Stickers
We aim to produce and dispatch all orders as quickly and efficiently as possible. As every product is custom printed to order, turnaround times can vary depending on artwork approval, quantity, finishing options, and the complexity of the project.
Once you approve your proof, the minimum production turnaround is 2 full business days before dispatch. More specialist products and finishes including duplex, triplex, die cut, and foiled items will usually require additional production time due to the extra processes involved. You can view a more accurate turnaround estimate at any time by configuring your product within the online calculator.
Rush Production
If you’re working towards a tight deadline, we also offer a Rush Service at checkout which means you can reduce the production turnaround by 1 business day on eligible products.
Quality Checks and Dispatch
Although we are based in the UK, our courier partners provide fast, tracked delivery across the United States. Orders are carefully printed, finished, quality checked and prepared for dispatch before being sent across the Atlantic.
US shipping is charged at $12.95. Delivery to Eastern states typically takes 1–2 business days after dispatch, while customers in Central, Mountain, and Pacific states take an estimated 2–3 business days, depending on location.

Our standard gift card size is 3.5" x 2" (89x51mm), matching the dimensions of a traditional business card. The format fits comfortably into wallets, purses, and card holders, making it practical for cards designed to be carried and reused over longer periods of time.
Gift cards are available in a range of paper stocks and thicknesses, from lightweight 5.5pt uncoated options through to thicker silk, gloss, textured, and premium 38pt stocks. Our thicker cards still fit naturally inside standard wallets while offering a sturdier, more substantial feel during handling. The sizing also leaves enough space for barcode placement, QR codes, branding, and redemption details without overcrowding the layout.
Cards can be printed in either portrait or landscape orientation depending on the design, and custom sizing options are also available up to 148x148mm for businesses wanting something less conventional.
Are Gift Cards Waterproof?+
Gift cards can be splash resistant when they are made from durable materials such as plastic and nevertear. These materials are designed to handle spills, moisture, humidity, and repeated day-to-day handling far better than traditional paper-based alternatives. These materials are designed to protect the design from everyday wear, helping the cards remain presentable during longer-term use and regular carrying.
Our plastic cards are highly resistant to everyday splashes and general exposure to water, though we do not recommend prolonged submersion or leaving them exposed to excessive moisture for extended periods of time. This makes them well suited to cafés, salons, gyms, hospitality venues, and other environments where cards may spend extended periods of time inside wallets, purses, pockets, or bags.
How Durable Are Gift Cards?+
Gift cards are designed to cope with fingerprints, scuffs, and everyday use better than most paper-based alternatives. The added flexibility of options such as PVC coating reduces wear from repeat handling compared to traditional paper stocks.
Thicker paper stocks naturally increase their durability, making them a great option for prepaid gifting, customer rewards, and repeat-use promotions where customers keep the cards for extended periods of time. While no printed product is completely indestructible, plastic gift cards generally hold their shape and appearance far better during longer-term use and regular handling.

It is also important to remember that barcode scanners and QR readers effectively read artwork in greyscale rather than full color. Some color combinations may appear high contrast visually while becoming difficult to distinguish once converted into lighter and darker tones during scanning.
Very small codes, poor contrast, or overcrowded layouts can affect scanning performance, which is why maintaining clear spacing around machine-readable elements is important. While stylized QR codes and decorative barcode elements may look visually interesting, maintaining reliable functionality should always take priority over design experimentation. Customers should also ensure their QR codes or barcodes are generated, tested, and supplied at a suitable size for their intended scanning environment before printing.
Can Each Gift Card Have a Unique Number or QR Code?+
Each gift card can be individually personalized using the “All Prints Personalized via Data Merge” option on our product configurator. Businesses often add unique QR codes, barcodes, serial numbers, expiry dates, customer names, or redemption references across the same print run.
This works by applying different spreadsheet data to each individual card during production. Each row of data generates a separate personalized card while still maintaining the same overall design layout, which helps businesses organize promotional campaigns, customer-specific offers, bookings, or tracked redemption activity more effectively.
It is important that spreadsheet data is supplied in the correct format before production begins, as incorrectly structured or incomplete data can affect how personalized information is applied.

Gift cards can be produced with rounded corners to create a softer, more polished appearance while also making the cards feel smoother during everyday handling. Rounded corners can also help the cards slide more easily into wallets, purses, and card holders during regular use.

How Do You Prepare Artwork for Gift Cards with Barcodes or QR Codes?+
Barcode and QR code artwork is best supplied using high-quality print-ready files such as PDF or fully packaged Adobe Illustrator artwork, where the code remains sharp and properly scaled during production. Clear vector artwork helps preserve clean edges and consistent spacing, which is important for reliable scanning once printed.
Artwork should be prepared at 300DPI with CMYK color settings. Adequate clear space should also be maintained around the barcode or QR code itself. Heavily compressed or low-quality images will lose definition during printing, which will affect scanning performance on physical cards.

Both orders included custom foiling (which I could not find for a better price point anywhere, especially here in the US). We graphic designers know that human creativity is the core of what we do, which is why I was so appreciative that I was working with fellow humans through this process, and not through some AI. Further, the shipping process was spectacular. Whereas many US-based businesses were offering week-long SHIPPING times (excluding printing), Aura offers as its default UPS Express shipping for the US. As a result, their shipments have a 2-day transit time (for me, in a smaller city, but would be overnight for major metros), and are guaranteed by UPS. Having traversed the world of e-commerce shipping, nothing brings me greater relief than to see UPS as a shipping option. Additionally, and quite importantly for my fellow US designers, because my order consisted of what could reasonably be described as printed marketing materials, they should not be subject to tariffs. The shipping department at Aura made sure that the customs information was filled out correctly, leaving me with no duties to pay, for which I am eternally grateful. Awed by the quality of my save-the-dates, proceeding with the rest of my suite was a no-brainer, which included a main invite, detail card, and reply card.
