How to Supply Your Artwork?

The Basics

Allow 0.08" (2mm) of bleed around all artwork for cutting tolerances.
Format all artwork to CMYK.
Set your resolution to a minimum of 300DPI.
Supply your artwork in PDF, JPG or fully packaged AI formats.
Keep all text, logos and foreground images within a 0.1" (3mm) safe zone from the cut edge.

Metallic Foil & Spot UV Products

Separate all foil elements from CMYK artwork, place foil elements on a separate page, and supply as 100% K (black). See our helpful guide about how to supply artwork for foil printing.

Die Cut Or Kiss Cut (Shaped) Products Including Stickers

Indicate cut lines using a 1pt magenta line on a separate layer or separate page. See our helpful guide about how to supply artwork for die/kiss cutting.

Folded, Perforated or Drilled Products

Indicate any crease lines, perforation lines or drill holes using a 1pt magenta line on a separate layer or separate page.

Spot Colors

Name your spot color layer with the color you've chosen, for example 'gold' or 'silver'.

FAQ's

Can you provide me with a custom window packaging boxes template?

Yes and no, we're more than happy to provide you with a template for the final size of your packaging however we're unable to apply your custom window design to this template. This is something we'd expect you to design if you're supplying print-ready artwork. Simply apply your window to the flat design and indicate it as a cut line. Alternatively, purchase our design service and our team can create your window box packaging design from scratch!

Is there a limit to the design of the window I can have?

The only limit is making sure that the window doesn't impede the structural integrity of your carton. For example, if you make the window too big, the box could lose its strength. We'd also recommend you pay close attention to how the final carton assembles and make sure the window doesn't clash with any other folds or flaps.

What is the largest size of packaging box with clear window you can produce?

Because we specialise in a personalised approach, the best way to set limitations is to say we're able to print any sized window box packaging that when unfolded and laid flat fit on an A3 sheet which stands at 420mm x 297mm.

Can I have print inside the window?

Currently, we're only able to print to the outside of your custom window packaging boxes, this means that the inside of your box would show whatever paper type you choose for your carton.

Is it possible to have custom window packaging boxes without a plastic insert?

Yes, this is an option in our configurator tool, just select that you'd like not to include a clear plastic sheet over your window and we can leave it open. Ideal for those wanting to make recycling easier.

Is window box packaging less protective than a standard box carton?

It depends on the size and style of your window. If you imagine a Jenga tower, the more blocks you remove from it the weaker it becomes. The same is true with packing, the more material you cut out for your window, the weaker it can become. Adding a plastic insert can help here and it also keeps your packaging resistant to dust.

Will my die-cut window packaging arrive assembled?

Your custom window box packaging will arrive flat and ready to assemble. This means any tape that needs to be applied will be, ready with a peel-off backing for you to create. We think this is the best balance of cost saving as it means you're not paying us to assemble your boxes and then ship them empty, so you'll save on shipping costs too.
