Have An Eco-Friendly Christmas With Aura Print

At this joyful time of the year, thinking about planning an eco-friendly Christmas may not be at the forefront of your festive plans. With the food, presents, Santa Claus, and family to organize, keeping track of your environmental impact isn't going to be at the top of your Christmas to-do list. But what if we told you that going green this Christmas can be easy?

To help you in making the best choices for the environment this Christmas time, we've created our own curated eco-friendly Christmas guide. From recycling Christmas cards to making your own paper Christmas decorations, we have everything covered.

So, without further ado, let's kickstart this year's eco-friendly Christmas celebrations.

Recycle Christmas Cards Once The Holiday Season Ends

Did you know that an estimated 8 billion Christmas cards are sent annually in the UK? That number is only going to keep on climbing, so it’s important to know what to do with your cards once the holiday season is over.

Recycling Christmas cards is the best way to cut down on your environmental impact. It’s also a good idea to avoid buying Christmas cards with excessive glitter as the glitter contaminates the paper which then cannot be recycled. Instead, choosing a paper-printed Christmas card is a much better option.

At Aura Print, we’ve made it so that all our paper Christmas cards can be recycled once the holidays are over. Recycling Christmas cards from us is easy, all you need to do is pop your used cards into the recycling in and there you have it!

But what about our laminated and foil Christmas cards, we hear you ask?

Although these elements themselves cannot be directly recycled, that shouldn’t stop your Christmas card recycling journey. Our laminated and foiled cards can still be placed in the recycling bin with the rest of your recyclables. Your local recycling point will be able to separate the paper to be recycled from the special finishes.

We also work with suppliers who recycle foil products and plant trees to offset their carbon footprint. Learn more about how we have made our foiling process green.

Recycled Christmas Cards Made From Eco-Friendly Materials

Another great choice for your environmentally friendly Christmas cards is to pick out Christmas cards made from recycled materials. Recycled Christmas cards are great for the environment, as fewer trees need to be cut down to produce them. Instead, these green cards are made using pre-existing paper.

In recent years, we’ve taken big steps at Aura Print to expand our eco-friendly paper range, providing as many different paper options as possible. And we are still going strong - with our newest editions of G.F. Smith wheat, rag, and cannabis, recently hitting our site. Now, there are over 5 special recycled paper types for you to pick from to print your own festive designs.

Not only do we print using recycled and recyclable paper stocks, but we’ve also taken a look into how we can make our inks green. All our environmentally friendly Christmas cards are printed using vegetable-based inks. Veggie inks take much less time to biodegrade compared to traditional chemical inks and so are a greater choice to help the environment.

Choose Green Gift Tags For Christmas Presents

Printing eco-friendly Christmas cards isn’t the only way to stay green this holiday season. Recycled gift tags are another great alternative.

All our paper gift tags can be recycled once the holidays are over. With our stellar range of recycled paper stocks and the option to pick single or double thickness, your Christmas tags can stay eco-friendly, whilst standing out from the Christmas present wrapping.

We know that sometimes, eco-friendly printing can be limited and sometimes, frankly, be a little boring. With our Christmas gift tags, you’re in charge of the printed design and the custom shape. Whether you would be liking a circular Christmas tag or a custom-cut Santa sleigh, decorating your gifts with fun tags, while being good to the environment, couldn’t be easier.

Christmas Decorations From Recycled Materials For Your Christmas Tree

Making your own eco-friendly Christmas decorations is a fun activity to do with family and is a lovely way to add some unique DIY Christmas ornaments to your house and tree. Paper baubles, homemade tree toppers, and Christmas wreaths are just a couple of ideas for you to give a try. And, the best part? Everything can be done with a limited impact on the planet.

At Aura Print, we’re no strangers to printing recycled Christmas decorations from green materials. We always strive toward providing as many custom print options as possible, and our die-cut printing is a great option to print some custom-shaped baubles and décor. Whether you’re looking for custom-shaped nativity scene hanging baubles or kraft paper chains, we can do it all.

So, how do we make our Christmas decorations eco-friendly?

Other than printing using a variety of recycled papers and biodegradable inks, we’ve also streamlined our production process to create as little waste as possible. We don’t pack our orders with plastic wrap, instead, we love using recyclable brown paper wrapping to keep your Christmas ornaments safe during transit. And our in-house custom-cut decorations don’t require a metal form, we instead use the Vivid Veloblade, reducing leftover waste from each of our die-cut orders.
