Let our Design Team Work their Magic

We understand not everyone is a professional designer. You may not know your RGB from your CMYK or your bleed from your trap. That's why we have our in-house team on hand to craft the design of your dreams. All designs are individually created by our talented bunch. Yes, that's right, real people!

Production Turnaround

We aim to produce and dispatch all orders as quickly and efficiently as possible. As every product is custom printed to order, turnaround times can vary depending on artwork approval, quantity, finishing options and the complexity of the project. More specialist products and finishes, including duplex, triplex, die cut and foiled items, will usually require additional production time due to the extra processes involved.

As you configure your product, the online calculator updates in real time to show an estimated turnaround based on your chosen options. Once you approve your proof, our team will email you a dispatch estimate for your specific order. This estimate covers the production time from proof approval to dispatch and does not include courier delivery time.

Rush Production

If you’re working towards a tight deadline, we also offer a Rush Service at checkout which means you can reduce the production turnaround by 1 business day on eligible products.

Quality Checks and Dispatch

Although we are based in the UK, our courier partners provide fast, tracked delivery across Canada. Orders are carefully printed, finished, quality checked and prepared for dispatch before being sent across the Atlantic.

Canadian shipping is charged from CA$24.95. Delivery to major urban areas in southern Canada typically takes 1–2 business days after dispatch, while deliveries to rural, remote, northern and territorial locations may take an estimated 2–3 business days or longer, depending on location and courier coverage.

You can find full information on delivery times, shipping options, courier services, and return policies on our Delivery & Returns page.

What Are Perforated Flyers Used For?

Perforated flyers are ideal when part of your flyer needs to be easily detached, kept, redeemed, submitted, or passed along. The main section can communicate your message, while the perforated portion provides something practical for customers to keep and use later.

They’re a popular choice for coupons, loyalty cards, appointment reminders, event tickets, contact cards, promotional offers, and redemption codes. If your customers only need to keep a small section after reading the flyer, perforated flyers offer a simple and professional solution.

One of the biggest advantages of perforated flyers is convenience. A full-size flyer is great for explaining your promotion, but people are much more likely to keep a small tear-off section in their wallet, purse, or glove compartment for future reference. If you’re planning a direct mail or promotional campaign, our guide to promoting with flyers offers practical tips for creating marketing materials that deliver better results.

When Should I Add A Tear-Off Section to My Flyers?

Add a tear-off section whenever you want customers to keep, redeem, submit, or hand over part of your flyer. Whether it’s a coupon, appointment reminder, event ticket, entry form, or contact card, a perforated section makes it easy for people to remove and keep only the information they need.

Perforated flyers work best when they have two clear purposes. The main section introduces your business, promotes an event, or explains your offer, while the tear-off portion becomes the practical piece customers keep for later. It’s a simple addition that can make your flyers more useful and improve the overall customer experience.

If there’s no reason for someone to detach part of the flyer, perforation probably isn’t necessary. However, if you want customers to redeem a special offer, present a ticket, save your contact information, or return part of the flyer, adding a perforation is a smart choice. If you’re still planning your campaign, our guide to 6 reasons to use flyers and 6 design considerations shares practical tips for creating flyers that are designed to get results.

Where Should the Perforation Go On My Flyer?

The best location for a perforation depends on how the tear-off section will be used. A perforated strip along the bottom is a popular choice for coupons, promotional offers, and contact information, while a vertical perforation can work well for event tickets, appointment reminders, or detachable response cards.

The key is to make sure both sections remain useful after they’re separated. Once the tear-off portion has been removed, the main flyer should still communicate your message clearly. Likewise, the detachable section should contain everything someone needs to keep, whether that’s a coupon, ticket, contact details, or redemption code.

We can add both horizontal and vertical perforations, and we also offer custom perforation placement if your design requires something more specific. The most important thing is to plan the perforation as part of your artwork from the beginning. This helps ensure important elements such as QR codes, logos, images, and text aren’t accidentally positioned across the tear line, resulting in a cleaner, more professional finished flyer.

How Many Perforations Can I Add to My Flyers?

We can add up to three horizontal or vertical perforations to your flyers, or create a custom perforation layout if your design requires something more specialized. This gives you the flexibility to include a single tear-off coupon, multiple redemption sections, detachable tickets, response cards, or several removable sections within the same flyer.

While it’s possible to include multiple perforations, simpler designs often produce the best results. A single tear-off section with a clear purpose is usually more effective than several small sections that may confuse customers. If you’re planning multiple perforations, each section should have a distinct function and be easy to understand.

As the number of perforations increases, careful artwork preparation becomes even more important. QR codes, contact information, promotional codes, and smaller text should all be positioned with enough clearance to avoid the tear lines. A clean, well-planned layout will always produce a more professional finished flyer and provide a better experience for your customers.

Can Perforated Flyers Include Unique Codes, Names, or QR Codes?

Yes! Perforated flyers can be personalized using variable data printing (data merge), allowing every flyer or tear-off section to contain unique information. This can include discount codes, QR codes, names, locations, reference numbers, serial numbers, promotional offers, or any other variable data you need for your campaign.

Personalized perforated flyers are ideal for tracking marketing performance, creating location-specific promotions, managing event registrations, or producing unique coupons and redemption codes. For example, each tear-off section can feature its own QR code, promotional code, or branch-specific offer, making it easier to measure responses and understand which campaigns generate the best results.

To produce a variable data job, we’ll simply need your finished artwork along with a clearly organized spreadsheet containing the information you’d like to personalize. Our prepress team will merge the data into your flyer artwork before sending you a proof for approval, ensuring every flyer is produced accurately while maintaining a consistent professional design.

What Paper Weight Works Best for Perforated Flyers?

The best paper weight depends on how your perforated flyers will be used. The stock needs to be durable enough to withstand handling while still allowing the perforated section to tear away cleanly and easily. At Aura Print, perforated flyers are available on a wide range of single-weight paper stocks, from approximately 3.7pt to 18pt, depending on the material you choose.

Heavier paper stocks often create a more premium feel and are ideal when the tear-off section is intended to be kept as a coupon, event ticket, loyalty card, or promotional voucher. Lighter stocks are a cost-effective choice for short-term marketing campaigns and large-volume flyer distribution where durability is less important.

To ensure the best possible results, perforated flyers are produced on single-weight papers only. Double-thick, triple-thick, and colour core stocks aren’t suitable for perforated printing because of their construction. If you’re unsure which paper weight is right for your project, our guides to the best paper weight for flyers and gloss, silk, or uncoated paper explain the differences and can help you choose the most suitable option.

Can Perforated Flyers Be Folded Too?

Yes! Perforated flyers can also be folded, making them a great choice when you need multiple panels of information alongside a detachable section. We can add up to three horizontal or vertical creases, as well as perforations, depending on the layout and functionality of your design.

This combination works particularly well for promotional flyers with detachable coupons, event programs with ticket stubs, direct mail pieces with reply sections, or informational flyers where customers need to remove and keep part of the printed piece. Planning the folds and perforations together from the beginning helps ensure your flyer opens smoothly, presents the information clearly, and allows the tear-off section to function exactly as intended.

When designing folded perforated flyers, it’s important to keep text, logos, QR codes, and other key design elements clear of both the fold lines and the perforations. Giving each panel a clear purpose and allowing enough space around the finishing lines will help create a cleaner, more professional finished product that’s easy for customers to read, fold, and use.

Can I Add Foil or Lamination to Perforated Flyers?

Yes! Many of our perforated flyer stocks are compatible with matte, gloss, and soft-touch lamination, and we also offer metallic foil for designs that need an extra premium finish. Foil is always applied to a soft-touch laminated surface, providing the ideal base for excellent foil adhesion while giving your flyers a smooth, luxurious feel.

When choosing a finish, it’s important to consider how the perforated section will be used. If customers need to write on it, stamp it, redeem it, or submit it, an uncoated stock may be more practical than a laminated finish. Matching the paper and finishing options to the purpose of the flyer helps ensure it looks professional while remaining easy to use.

Foil is particularly effective for highlighting logos, event names, promotional offers, coupon values, and other important design elements. For the best results, we recommend keeping foil artwork clear of the perforation line so the detachable section continues to tear away cleanly. If you’re considering metallic finishes, our guide to how metallic foil flyers can put your event in the limelight explains how foil can add impact to your next print project.

How Should I Design a Flyer with a Tear-Off Section?

The key to designing a successful perforated flyer is making sure both sections work independently. The main flyer should clearly explain your promotion, event, product, or service, while the tear-off section should contain everything customers need once it’s been detached. Whether it’s a coupon, event ticket, appointment reminder, or contact card, the detachable section should still make complete sense on its own.

Treat the tear-off section as though it’s a separate printed piece. Include a clear heading, any essential contact details, expiry dates, promotional codes, or instructions, and leave enough space around the edges to keep everything easy to read. If you’re including a QR code, be sure to test it before submitting your artwork, and always check that smaller text remains clear and legible at the finished size.

It’s also important to keep important design elements away from the perforation line. Logos, QR codes, photographs, and text should never cross the tear line, as they may become difficult to read or use once the flyer has been separated. Planning the perforation as part of your artwork from the beginning will produce a cleaner, more professional finished result. Before uploading your files, our guide to how to check your artwork for print is a helpful resource for making sure everything is ready for production.

Can Aura Print Help Me Set Up a Perforated Flyer Design?

Absolutely! Perforated flyers require a little more planning than standard flyers, and our team is here to help you get everything set up correctly. From positioning the perforation to making sure the detachable section works independently, we’ll review your artwork to help ensure the finished product is both practical and professionally produced.

If you’ve already created your artwork, simply upload it after placing your order and our prepress team will check the files before production begins. If you’d prefer us to create the artwork for you, select “Supply Brief & We Design” when placing your order, then reply to your confirmation email with your design brief, logo, text, images, brand guidelines, promotional details, and where you’d like the perforation to be positioned.

The more information you can provide, the better we’ll be able to tailor the design to your needs. Let us know whether the detachable section will be used as a coupon, event ticket, appointment reminder, loyalty card, contact card, or another type of promotional piece, and we’ll design the layout around its intended purpose. If you’re unsure what to include, our guide to how to write a design brief explains everything you need to prepare before we start designing.
